Wrong as usual! When applying for UN Statehood, you must have a government, a defined territory, have the capacity to enter relationships with other States, and be able to control your borders.
Israel applied for UN Statehood in 1948, and has been a standing member since 1949, while Gaza was occupied by Egypt and the West Bank occupied by Jordan for the next 20 years and never applied for UN Statehood. ——-If I am wrong, please correct me.
It is now 2024 and Palestine as defined, still has not met all the requirement for UN Statehood, they are an “observer state” at the UN General Assembly.
