They are smart to get out because the US was going to abandon them if there was an extended battle. The US destroyers don’t have enough missiles to fend off more than approximately 100 drones before they have to go to a port and resupply…so all the Houthis have to do is send enough drones and the US will be forced to choose between backing off or sinking.
