There are multiple books written on how the Brits took down the first and only democratically elected gov’t of Iran because they nationalized oil. Check that out. What about the Israelis, Brits, and French messing in Egypt in order to steal the Suez Canal? The Yanks set Middle and South America alight so many damn times I don’t even know where to start. Interesting thing is that most of these ‘adventures’ was to replace a democratic candidate or gov’t with an authoritarian or military one; guess they thought they could control them. Which they never could! And then people whose lives they interfered in were messed over twice. Oh, the good old western powers. But sure, let’s vilify other countries who do it less.
