A democratic country’s armed forces don’t “assert sovereignty” over its own people and territory. Only military dictatorships do that. In Canada it is forbidden for our forces to enter Canada unless the Canadian public invites them in, and only then for very specific reasons that ABSOLUTELY DO NOT INCLUDE “asserting sovereignty” over us.
