Self determination is self determination and the Palestinian people well before Jewish immigrants arrived were opposed to Zionism and were working towards their own state. The British prevented that and facilitated the transfer of Jews against the Palestinians desires. Until the 1937 white papers which stopped the immigration and then the Jews started terrorist attacks against the British.
