Sorry, but you should change what you are smoking. Israel did not stop the bombing. In fact, as I recall reading in the Christian Science Monitor the next day, Ariel Sharon had Israel bomb Beirut at 2:42 and 3:38 the next afternoon, which happened to be the numbers of the UN resolutions calling for Israeli withdrawal from the 1967 Occupied Territories. Subsequently, the US arranged a cease fire ending Israel’s 76 day siege of Beirut, with the PLO agreeing to debark to Tunisia when Sharon agreed there would be no attacks on the now defenseless camps.
Then came the assassination of Lebanese president Bashir Gemayel after which Sharon ordered Gemayel’s Falangist followers to enter Sabra and Shatila and massacre two to three times as many women and children plus elders-as happened in Gaza Oct 7–there were no fedayeen left to defend them–while Israeli soldiers guarded the camps’ exits/ entrances, fed the killers, lit flares so the killers could work through the night and bulldozers to help them bury the bodies in the morning.
