Although Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria were illegally occupied
by Jordan in 1948 they remained in effect part of the Jewish National Home
that had been created at San Remo.
In the 1967 6-Day War Israel, in effect, recovered territory that legally belonged to it.
The Jewish National Home was endorsed by the League of Nations in 1922,
affirmed in the Anglo-American Convention on Palestine in 1925
and confirmed in 1945 by article 80 of the UN.
