Re: USA approves F-16 sale to Turkiye alongside F-35s for Greece

Not sure if Greek pilots can fly nor keep the F-35 in the sky considering the problems it is currently experiencing. Just imagine the new jets falling from the air for no reason. Doh might have a chuckle. Anyway, Greece is surrounded by Turkish military bases (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and North Macedonia). Any aircraft Turkish airforce receives from the Pentagon will eventually be fitted with local equipment including weapons. With Greece’s falling population you have to wonder where the money for their defence budget is coming from. Türkiye promoted to #8 in Global Firepower rankings thanks to an increase in military budget expenditure. France is now outside the top #10 according to this report. Greece sitting at #30. The welfare of the nation is critical nonetheless less. I hear Greece agreed to transfer Russian made military equipment/weaponry to Ukraine in exchange for the F-35s. Vladimir not happy. Existing Russian equipment in Türkiye will eventually become obsolete to be replaced by locally engineered technology. PM Mitsotakis counting 💶? Not so sure. Being involved in an arms race could mean Greece sent into a new economic crisis. Greeks in Türkiye drinking coffee ☕ and 🍵.
