If you go to Mecca nearly everyone agrees the Mohammed is the guy. You go to Italy its Jesus. You go to Israel Moses is the man. Go to India and it’s Brahma and Vishnu. And so on. Nearly everyone that believes comes from a family that also believed the same thing. They all agree they made the choice to believe on their own agency rather than conditioning. If one does a statistical analysis of the probability of billions of people choosing the same faith of their background based purely on reason you end up with a number higher than atoms in the observable universe.
Whether someone has an interest in philosophy or not they are making philosophical choices. Philosophy deals in part with examining why we believe something to be true. And what is the mechanism to determining truth. The Taliban that stick their bums up in the air five times a day have no interest in philosophy either. They are happily trapped in their allegory of the cave believing what they believe.
You are not the Taliban. Much smarter than that. You don’t have to reply to my posts if a particular subject matter doesn’t appeal to you but I will post what I please just as you do.
