This ‘some extent’ . . . is the extent to which the US Constitutional proforma is a flawed one.
However, were each and every participant in this constitutional process to ‘act in good faith’ – then ‘the process’ does have opportunity to deliver (lawfully and for society-as-whole).
The death knell to the UN’s efforts to rescue ‘Palestine’s lawful rights, in the aftermath of the ill considered Resolution 181’ – through the UN General Assembly Resolution 186 of May 14th 1948 – came when President Truman on the 28th of October 1948, in a speech in New York, repudiated that goal and process.
