Middle east “media” or “journalists” are not traditional news groups or reporters, like in western democracies.
In the middle east the governments are authoritarian, theocracies or plain dictatorships.
And the “media” in the middle east are plain old state media propagandists, serving as the mouthpiece of their government.
To call middle east “news” groups the regular media or journalists is misleading.
The middle east governments would like to use the western terms to bring some legitimacy to the state media’s highly biased, selective and misleading “news coverage.”
