Netanyahu didn’t help his cause when he made references to Amalek. Some other Israeli politicians also put their foot in their mouths in similar ways. There may have been some war crimes committed on a random IDF soldiers too. The problem with the “genocide” thesis though… less than 2 percent of the regional population of Gaza has been killed and less 1 percent of the global Palestinian population.
The jihadists of Hamas instigated this latest conflict with it’s random murder of over thousand Jews back in October. That’s not just terrorism but an act of war. Israel naturally responded like any nation would have.. bring out the army. Although there are some Jewish nationalist fanatics that would like to murder all Palestinians, in practice if Israel on a national level was trying to kill everyone the current death tool would far higher
Only if f the deaths continue at this rate over the next year will the case for genocide have some merit. Hamas are unlikely to officially surrender .So what it boils down to is Likud going to gamble that they can continue killing in perpetuity without serious diplomatic blowback?
