Sound like you are an agnostic. I use the stronger word “atheism” for simplicity sake but the more wordy version of my views is more nuanced. One thing I don’t like about the word atheism is it implies some sort of -ism.. i.e. an ideology. Or that I am opposed to religion. I am not opposed to belief of gods, leprechauns unicorns, and even flat earth theories. I just believe if someone is going to provide an extraordinary theories they must provide evidence. If someone provides a somewhat outlandish theory in an honest way by qualifying it with I’m not sure…. that’s reasonable . We all have theories about everything under the sun that sometimes don’t pan out (our stock portfolios know). On the other hand, if they they provide false evidence which they portray as indisputable truth, it just makes them appear self-deluded (e.g. the story of Adam and Eve is a fabrication, evolution is what actually happened as we know this through millions of pieces of evidence).
There are an assortment of tricks religions that have deities use to avoid intellectual accountability for their mystical claims. The first one is to put their sundry deities perpetually out of the reach of our senses and technology. So hey you haven’t been to all of space-time to confirm there is no god named Elohim. Or you haven’t died yet. Or I swear my cousin Mike talked to him a 1000 years ago in the cave in the middle of nowhere which no one was around to confirm and left no physical evidence..
Another one is guilt and shaming. If you don’t follow the beliefs of your parents you are a bad son.. If you don’t believe in god you believe in nothing. If you don’t believe in god you will be reincarnated as a cockroach.
My favourite though is sadistic threats of eternal damnation for non-belief. IMO Comedian George Carlin explains that one best…..
