It’s true. The Nakba never ended. And it’s now turned into full blown genocide. What Israel has done since October 7, 2023 up to today is not morally justified by anything from that day in October, nor by anything before it. It’s this context that Israeli propaganda tries to erase, and if not erase, then hide, and if not hide, then falsify and dissimulate away. And that is why the Palestinian memoir is so important, in the same way that the Holocaust memoir was important. It keeps the truth alive and brings it to the forefront, even against all attempts of Israeli propaganda to suppress it, and against all efforts of the world’s official media to ignore it. People like myself can only do what’s in our grasp, like boycott and protest. Yet we can also help keep the Palestinian memoir alive by honoring it and sharing it. That memoir that can help change hearts and minds, and change actions from within.
